Autumnal Pugs

I took these photos Friday morning on my daily walk in the park with my pugs. It was a beautiful, crisp fall day. Some of the trees in the park are bare, but a few still have some lovely fall colors. I let the pugs walk off leash in the park. LarryPug and Romeo like to run up the hill and explore, while Elvis usually stays close to my side.

Our local park is about a block from our house. There is a baseball diamond, two tennis courts, a basketball court, and a children's playground. In the morning, the park is tranquil and quiet. We often socialize in the park with other neighbors and their dogs. Friday morning, we had the whole park to ourselves.

We interrupt the tree photos to bring you More Elvis!

I think the little tree in the center looks like a fairy tree.

Lovely textures. Our park is in the middle of the city. If you
climbed the hill behind these trees, you'd be at the train station!

Unbelievably More Projects from Cape Cod, Part 4

Hang in there girlfriends and blogfriends and let's see if we can wrap up that Cape Cod quilting weekend. Tomorrow I'll be hanging with my Brown Bagger friends all day and I've asked them to bring in their very first quilting project...now that ought to make a very interesting blog post.

It's not a quilt weekend until someone makes a Yellow Brick Road quilt.
This one is Cordula's and those yummy black and white
fabrics are flannel. She made two of them for baby gifts.

Cordula quilted and put the binding on this
quilt which you may have seen in last year's post.

JoAnne S. assembled her Scrappy Trips Around the World, also
a free Bonnie Hunter pattern. She made it from fabrics in
her batik stash. Only one fabric is not batik. Can you find it?

JoAnne also worked on this project with one inch squares.

Nancy D. is proud to show off one of four Little Twister
Table Runners that she is making for Christmas gifts.

What could possibly be in this tiny bag that Nancy D. is holding?

Think you can fit an entire quilt project into a make-up bag?
Check out Nancy D.'s miniature English Paper Piecing project.
The pieces are smaller than a dime. Who is this quilt for, Barbie?

Jo Ann E. shows off a paper pieced table runner.
The pieces are slightly larger than Nancy D.s' project, above.

Another one of Jo Ann E.'s projects. This is going to be bed size.

Kim G. is making a series of three pin-up girl quilts.
A few hunky guys have managed to sneak in as well.
You can find some of these great fabrics here at eQuilter.

You can never go wrong with Biker Chicks...

...or Space Vixens.
Laurel was working on these amazing machine appliqued blocks.

She has four of them cut out. There are nine in total.
The pattern is Fiesta de Talavera by J. Michelle Watts.

Inexplicably I got a photo of Terri, but not the project she was working on.
Fortunately, she also brought it last year, so you can see it here.
If you're still reading, I hope that you enjoyed seeing all of our projects.

Pugs and kisses,
Nancy

Still More Quilt Projects from Cape Cod, Part 3

I spent part of my weekend lusting after Marion's beautiful 40 Fat Quarter quilt. To her surprise, she finished the final two panels and assembled this beauty. You can find this pattern, called Scrappy Bargello, for free on Bonnie Hunter's Quiltville website here. I've made this pattern before, and I am definitely making another one!

Borders still to come!
The quilt started off being black and white with a splash of turquoise and pink to liven it up. Looks like the turquoise and pink kind of took over. I love it and Marion is happy with it too. This is the third 40 Fat Quarter quilt that she's made using her stash of Reproduction fabrics, with no visible end in sight.

Next, Marion went to work on her Kaffe Fassett quilt that we started in his workshop last Fall. She's got the first half sewn together and is working on the second half. Keep on reading and you can see Joan S.'s version in a completely different colorway further down in this blog post.

Layout in progress. Yummy Kaffe Fassett fabrics!

Surprisingly, Joannie made no place mats this weekend. Instead, she put the final quilting and the binding on a quilt that her sister started over sixteen years ago. It was intended to be a high school graduation gift for her son. Now, it is going to be a wedding gift instead. Thanks to Joannie, it is finally finished!
This is also a Trip Around the World pattern, like the one
I showed you in my previous post about Eleanor's Christmas quilt.
It is done in all sports fabric. See below for some detail.

Joannie also turned a book panel into a throw quilt for her daughter Jill.
The amazing Pratt sisters were also hard at work. Kim P. devoted herself to one project.
One block down, 41 more to go!
This star quilt is going to be a gift for a
co-worker's granddaughter.

Kim is working with all of these wonderful pinks and purples!
Karen showed off some new projects that we hadn't seen before. To see more of Karen's work or purchase her patterns, you can visit her website, her Etsy Shop and her Facebook page.

I didn't know that Karen was a fellow Judy Niemeyer enthusiast!
I was flattered when she said that my blog posts about my Bali BedRunner
had inspired her to dig out this old project to finish it. Unfortunately she left
the border kit at home. Isn't this spectacular? Don't you want to make one now?

Close-up of Karen's quilt

This is one of Karen's original designs, called
Star Passion. You can purchase the pattern here.

Designed by Karen's friend Cindy, this may become
a new QuiltLily pattern in 2014.

This is Karen's newest pattern. It isn't on her website yet.
Joan S. also was working on her Kaffe workshop quilt. She had the center finished and added the borders.

Joan's quilt looks bright and summery with
its yellow border. I want this one too!

Another one of Joan's projects. I think she was getting ready to
add the binding. This quilt has a nice masculine feel.

Joan is making her next quilt out of scraps from previous projects
using light and dark triangles. She had it up on the design wall and
it is going to be stunning. She pulled it down before I could get a photo.
Lots more still to come! We were a productive bunch and I took A LOT of photos.

Pugs and kisses,
Nancy
