First, I found the pale blue animal print (two pieces! an additional 50% off!) in the remnant bin. Then I hit the mother-lode in the clearance aisle. I paid less than $4 a yard for the two ugly green fabrics and the handsome cowboys. I bought a yard of each of the ugly green fabrics with a purpose. I'm making a camouflage print tote bag for one of the girls at my veterinarian's office and these two fabrics coordinate with it perfectly. I'm going to use the dark green for the trim and handles and the lighter green for the lining.
Honestly Honey, these fabrics followed me home! |
And who could resist those hunky cowboys for $3.50 a yard? They are Alexander Henry pin-up boys and you can still buy them for full price at many websites for $10 a yard and more. I think there was around 3.5 yards left on the bolt, but it all came home with me. Do you want to see a little more of those handsome cowboys?
Be still, my heart... |

Yes that always happens to me! I get all kinds of things that I am not supposed to--and it seems like when I don't I always regret it too. It is a no win situation.
ReplyDeleteI can't say I was ever shopping in our JoAnn's and cowboys jumped in the cart, sad sad sad.

Um yep which is why I am much better purchasing online. I have the cowboys fabric, I made a machine cover for it a couple of years ago.
ReplyDeleteYes, almost every time I set foot in JoAnns! But I am not just rescuing fabric, I am building my 'resource center'!!
ReplyDeleteHa....I guess it is a common problem! lol
ReplyDeleteHa! I feel like half the store comes home with me, everytime! The clearance aisle is dangerous!!
ReplyDeleteMore times than I want to mention! I think I'll use "rescue" to justify my next clearance purchase....
ReplyDeleteIt happens to me all the time - at the grocery store and online fabric shops. Who can resist a good sale; and I'm building my stash for retirement!
ReplyDeleteDo you have any plans for the cowboys?
Ha ha, oh yes, all the time... Alexander Henry has the very best novelty fabrics. "Be still my beating heart" lol...Those cowboys could leave their boots under my bed anytime, lol!
