A December Evening with the Thursday Girls

I did a little sewing with my Thursday Girl friends tonight. I'm working on an owl quilt made of soft flannel for my 5 year old friend Lily. I hope to finish the top this weekend and then I'll show you a picture. It won't be done by Christmas (unless a Christmas miracle occurs), but I'll be sure to give it to her before Groundhog Day.

Here are some photos of my friends' projects.
Ginny was ready to layer her Nutcracker quilt tonight. Isn't it adorable?
I forgot to ask her the name of the pattern.
Here is a close-up of one of the Nutcrackers.
Pat was machine quilting a very large t-shirt quilt.
Mother and daughter team, Judi and Beth, were layering a quilt that Mom Judi had made.
It's a disappearing 9-Patch. Judi used the tutorial from the Missouri Quilt Company.
Ignore the fully stocked liquor cabinet behind them. We really do meet in a bar.
Here's another shot of the quilt. It is lime green, black and gray. Very striking!
My friend Nancy Q. was hand stitching some felted wool minis.
Here are her November Turkey and her October Pumpkin.
These are quite small, I'm guessing about 4" to 6" square each.
Here are my two senior pug boys. Romeo, on the left, celebrates his 13th birthday
this month on the 23rd. Elvis turned 12 in October. They are sitting on the padded
anti-fatigue mat in front of my kitchen sink. There is also an air vent right behind
them that blows hot air, so it's a comfy spot to hang out.
Don't you just want to squish them?
Linking up on Friday to Confessions of a Fabric Addict, Richard and Tanya Quilts, and Crazy Mom Quilts. Thanks for visiting!

Pugs and kisses,
Nancy

  1. I love how you meet in a bar! I am on a mission to find a bar we can quilt in. Your pugs look so content in their heated cozy spot. You are correct, I do just want to squish and cuddle them!!!

  2. Oh, I just want to squish those little faces and rub those so soft ears! I'm sure your friend Lily will love her quilt whenever she gets it. There's still lots of winter weather left in early Feburary.

  3. Life is so hard when it is fatiguing to sit on a mat, in front of a warm air register. Those faces are too cute. Love what people are getting accomplished in your group.
